Managing Director of Hulhumale' Development Corporation (HDC) Mohamed Saiman has stated that design work on the connecting bridges and channels under Phase II of the Hulhumale' Development Project would be completed soon and contracted out for construction.
Speaking with PSM News, the Managing Director of HDC said that design work on these structures, which have been funded by aid from the government of Saudi Arabia, is near completion. Mohamed Saiman said that tenders would be invited to contract out the construction of these structures, as soon as detail designing work is complete. Saiman expressed confidence that practical work on the connecting bridges would begin this year.
Work in Phase II of the Hulhumale Development Project is proceeding at a high speed. The project targets a demographic of 10,000. The master plan of Phase II of the Hulhumale' Development Project showcases various changes the area would undergo as part of the project. The area has now become host to numerous developmental projects implemented simultaneously.
The plan is to develop Hulhumale' on par with the most developed cities in the world, under Phase II of the project. The project encompasses infrastructural aspects, never before seen in any area of the country. These include eight bridges that connect the areas in Hulhumale', developed under Phase I and Phase II, causeways and connecting channels. All these areas would ensure easy access and convenience for residents.
