PSM & AIBD begins lighting, make-up & set designing workshop

Public Service Media (PSM) along with Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) has started a workshop aiming to provide experience in the areas of lighting, make-up and set designing.

The workshop is designed to combine the 3 visual element of production to give a comprehensive understanding of the processes of making a High Definition Television Programme. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the workshop, Deputy Managing Director of PSM Shaayan Shahid said that this workshop is designed for the Maldives and revealed that they are working on conducting other courses related to the field with relevant international universities.

The two-2 week workshop is taught by experienced consultants from each respective field. Participants of the workshop described this as a golden opportunity and thanked PSM for conducting such an event. The classes are conducted in separate classrooms simultaneously; all the participants will join together on the final assignment to display the skills they have picked up from the workshop. 10 members are taking part in set designing while, 12 are participating in studio lighting and 16 members are participating in the makeup course.

PSM aims to resolve capacity building challenges faced in media sector by providing a platform to offer domestic and international courses to the individuals working at the sector through Maldives Media Institute (MMI).
