MMA unveils new design of MVR2 coins

Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has unveiled the new design of MVR2 coins.

The newly minted MVR2 coins was unveiled by Governor Dr. Azeema Adam. The new MVR2 coins are now in circulation, with a design which combines brass and steel with an outer and inner ring, according to MMA.

The new coin will be lighter in comparison to the previous MVR2 coin said Assistant Executive Director at MMA Muna Ibrahim while speaking to PSM News. MMA added that both the old and new version of the MVE 2 coins will be used in circulation.
