World Health Organization (WHO) hands over emergency relief kits to the Ministry of Health.
The emergency medicine and supply kits, worth over MVR821000, was handed over to the Maldivian Government at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health on Thursday. The kits were handed over by WHO Representative to the Maldives Dr. Arwind Mathur and received on behalf of the Maldivian Government by Minister of Health Dr. Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim. These emergency kits will be used in 14 hospitals across the country, Health Minister Nazim said while speaking at the ceremony.
WHO is a major partner in developing the health sector of Maldives since it began working in the country. Meanwhile, Maldives is to host the regional meeting of South East Asia office of WHO is to be held in September this year.
