Foreign Minister sends condolences to Indian counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim has sent a message to Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of India, conveying sympathy to the Government and people of India.

In his message, the Foreign Minister said that it was with deep shock and sadness that he learnt about the flash floods and landslides in several areas of Nagaland state, causing loss of lives, destruction of crops, plantations and livestock.

“At this time of distress, the Government and the people of Maldives join me in conveying our profound sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of India,” the Foreign Minister said.

Minister Asim concluded his message by conveying sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
