The First Vice President of IFAWPCA and the Former President of Maldives Association of Construction Industry (MACI), Mohamed Ali Janah, has stated Maldives is experiencing one of the best periods in terms of economic growth and development.
Speaking on PSM News Programme, Maldives Today, the First Vice President of IFAWPCA and the Former President of MACI, Mohamed Ali Janah, noted that earlier infrastructural projects were neglected by the former administrations and congratulated and appreciated the developmental projects initiated by the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Developmental and infrastructural projects carried out by the current government are crucial to the developmental future of Maldives, Janah said.
Noting that tourism is the main backbone of the country, Janah highlighted that many private investors show interest in the tourism industry. He highlighted it as an advantage to the tourism development of the country. Reflecting on the developmental projects of the current administration, such as the Velana International Airport expansion project, the bridge and the Industrial village Janah noted said that particularly the industrial village is a requirement for the contractors. He added that the parking for the contractors are a huge issue since there is not enough space to park heavy vehicles.
Infrastructural projects needs to be initiated for the economic and developmental expansion of Greater Male' Region, Janah stated.
