Complaints filed to ACC decline in 2017

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) revealed that the total sum of complaints filed to the commission in the first half of this year has seen a decline compared to the same period of last year.

The recently unveiled statistics of the ACC reveals that in the first six months of this year a total of 426 complaints have been filed and in the past three months a total of 152 complaints have been lodged. This number compared to the 189 complaints of the first three months of last year is a decline of about 19%. From the cases filed, a total of 99 cases are been further investigated by ACC.

Furthermore, ACC revealed that some of the complaints filed were out of the mandate of ACC and therefore 6 cases were handed over to the relevent authorities. ACC also highlighted a total of 26 cases were rejected due to the lack of evidence and information while 19 cases were rejected last year.
