The Ambassador of Canada to Maldives, Shelly Whiting has paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Asim thanked the Ambassador for the close ties she maintained during her tenure as Ambassador and reflected on ways for further strengthening the existing ties, especially in area of climate change.
Ambassador Whiting reaffirmed the support of the Government of Canada to Maldives in the area of climate change and also stated that they would continue to support the Maldives through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.
