The Ambassador of China pays Farewell Call on Vice President

The Ambassador of China to Maldives Wang Fukang has paid his farewell call on Vice President Abdulla Jihad.

During the call held this morning at the President’s Office, the Vice President expressed his sincere gratitude for the generous contributions and support by the Government of China for the economic and social development of Maldives. Highlighting the Chinese contributions to the development of Maldives, the Vice President noted major developmental projects that are currently underway; the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, Expansion of Airport Runway project and building of 1500 housing units in the Maldives.

Also, the Vice President noted the 45 years of bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed his confidence in enhancing the relations to new heights in the years to come.

The Ambassador expressed the honour and privilege to serve as the Ambassador of China to Maldives, and took confidence in the Government of Maldives for its determination to further enhance the excellent relations between the two countries.

The Vice President and the Ambassador also discussed on exploring different areas of cooperation to strengthen the historic relations that exists between the two countries.
