Percentage of higher education in Maldives sees a huge inflation

The overall percentage of higher education in Maldives has seen a huge inflation from 6% to almost 50% in between 2012 to 2017, according to Minister of Home Affairs, Azleen Ahmed.

Addressing at the unveiling ceremony of "Hanadheysvara Arutha", Home Minister Azleen highlighted and accolade the achievements of Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) achieved in a short span of time of two years. The Home Minister highlighted that the university has opened doors for the Maldivians to pursue higher studies in various new fields.

Addressing on higher studies percentage of Maldives, Minister Azleen highlighted that Maldivians were new to the concept of higher studies back in 2012 as the researches made back then showed only 6% of people opt for pursuing higher studies. The Minister also highlighted that that the current situation has changed as much of the current society chooses to go for higher studies.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Admin and Finance of IUM, Ali Rasheed stated that the university has achieved major success both in the national and international arena. He highlighted that the university has been nominated for two major international awards.  

In the ceremony the website of IUM was rebranded and unveiled. In addition to this a handbook was also unveiled which enlightens the guidelines of the university and its staffs and students. IUM revealed that this book is also equipped with details of funding schemes, research skill diary, and instructions for religious research.
