Diabetes information session held for health sector professionals

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Novo Nordisk Company of Denmark held a diabetes information session for health sector professionals.

During the session held in Hotel Jen, a new brand of insulin pens by Novo Nordisk Company was also introduced to Maldives. Doctors from IGMH, ADK, Tree Top Hospital and other clinics attended the session.

IGMH's Internal Medicine Department's Consultant, Dr. Moosa Murad said that the session was aimed at informing the health professionals of the latest medical research, treatments and medications relating to diabetes.

Speaking to PSM News about the Insulin introduced to Maldives, Country Manager of Novo Nordisk for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Vinod Kumar said that they have two kind of pens, a disposable and permanent one. He said that the insulin by Novo Nordisk Company is self-reliant and pain free.

The insulin pen introduced by Novo Nordisk Company to Maldives is also covered by Aasandha Health Insurance Scheme.
