New Representative from UNICEF presents credentials

The new Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to the Maldives, Mohamed El Munir A. Safieldin has presented his letter of appointment to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim.

At the ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Asim congratulated Safieldin on the commencement of his term. During the meeting, Minister Asim highlighted the important role UNICEF has played, since the establishment of UNICEF country office in Maldives in March 1978.

Minister Asim also expressed his appreciation for the continued assistance from UNICEF in the area of improving education, well-being of children and women.
