Major Shiyam departs for Japan Coast Guard Global Summit

Chief of Defense Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam has departed to Japan, to take part in the "Japan Coast Guard Global Summit".

The summit which is scheduled to be held from September 11-14 would have discussions on topics such as ocean safety and security and topics related to Marine environment protection. This summit would boast participation from high level officials from 36 different countries. Maldives National Defense Force revealed that Coast Guard Commander Colonel Mohamed Ibrahim would also take part in the summit.

The Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam would conclude the summit and return to Maldives on September 15, 2017.
