MFDA destroys eggs with possibility of fipronil contamination

Maldives Food and Drug Authority, MFDA revealed that work is underway to destroy eggs imported from countries with reports of fipronil contamination.

According to MFDA, eggs imported from countries with fipronil reports are being destroyed as a precaution, so as to ensure that no contaminated eggs are sold for public consumption.

Egg farms in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France have reportedly been flagged for having produced fipronil contaminated eggs. MFDA states that they have noticed that eggs have been reported from identified companies from the respective countries to the Maldives.

Thus they are destroying all shipments of eggs from these countries.
