Public Service Media (PSM) has opened a new outlet to showcase products of Maldives TV in the Duty Free Zone of Velana International Airport. The duty free shop was inaugurated by Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Adhil Moosa.
Addressing at the inauguration ceremony, Managing Director of MACL Adhil Moosa thanked PSM for initiating and establishing such an outlet at the Duty Free Zone of Velana International Airport and described the outlet as an important aspect to advertise Maldives around the globe. Adhil Moosa highlighted that with the rapid expansion of Velana International Airport, it is important to advertise Maldives to the foreign countries and described the new outlet as a door for such advertisements.
Addressing the ceremony, Managing Director of PSM Ibrahim Ibrahim Khaleel stated that Maldives TV was established under the supervision of the governing board and management of the state owned media company. Ibrahim Khaleel stated that PSM aims to publicise and advertise the word, Maldivian, around the globe at greater heights and to establish new outlets of Maldives TV shops at various other duty free zones in foreign countries. He reiterated the commitment of PSM in advertising the tourism industry of Maldives.
Director of E-commerce and Marketing Ibrahim Nasreen revealed that through the newly launched outlet of Maldives TV shop, products which showcase the Maldivian natural sceneries, documentaries on Maldivian culture, history and life style would be made available. He further stated that currently the shop sells products of PSM but other parties are welcome to showcase their products.
The launching ceremony was attended by high level personnel from both PSM and MACL.
