Public Service Media (PSM) has launched the season 3 of Maldivian Idol.
Maldivian Idol is the country's first ever franchise reality show, and is organised by PSM, with the technical assistance of FremantleMedia. During the last two seasons, it successfully accomplished its aim; becoming a platform which gives the chance to many Maldivians to have their voices heard by many. It became a golden platform and an exposure to those interested in the music industry.
The first of its kind, Maldivian Idol has become a favorite among the public. After the completion of two seasons, PSM gears up for the third season of the show. The season 3 of the first ever franchise reality show in Maldives was launched by the chairman of PSM, Ibrahim Umar Manik.
Although, the judging panel had 3 judges in the first two seasons, this season's judges panel consists of four experienced musicians of the country. The judges of this seasons are, Ibrahim Ahmed, Mariyam Unoosha, Ismail Affan and Zara Mujthaba who is introduced to the show for the first time. This year, Shaina Shareef will join the host of the last two seasons Moosa Waseem as his co-host. In addition, the music coach of the year is Mohamed Abdul Ghani who was also the coach for the debut season.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of season 3, Chairman of PSM Ibrahim Umar Manik stated that after successful shows of Maldivian Idol, it is proven that such franchises can be hosted in the country. He attributed the successes of two previous seasons to hard work, dedication and determination of the PSM team.
The project head of Maldivian Idol, Deputy Managing Director of PSM, Aminath Shaayan Shahid assured that the whole team of the Maldivian Idol will work to make season 3 a success and to showcase a season full of entertainment and new talents.
The title sponsor of Maldivian Idol season 3 is national telecommunications provider, Dhiraagu. Maldivian Idol is part of the global Idol franchise, and marks the biggest singing competition series.
