The Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka has commended Sri Lanka's co-operation with the Maldives.
High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka Mohammed Hussain Shareef said, both countries have maintained an excellent relationship throughout history.
He commended Sri Lanka's contribution towards the advancement of fisheries in Maldives, as Sri Lanka imports fisheries products from the Maldives and adds value before exporting them to other countries.
He also spoke about the strong relationship between the two countries in the education sector by pointing out that the best teachers who serve in Maldivian State Schools are Sri Lankans and likewise, the Maldivian population is increasingly seeking education opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka and Maldives are collaborating well in tourism, fisheries, trade, investment and defence, along with co-operation in regional and global issues.
