Maldives particpates in 11th UNCTAD Debt Management Conference

Maldives has participated in the 11th UNCTAD Debt Management Conference. Auditor General Hassan Ziyath and Assistant Auditor General Hussain Niyazy attended the Conference in Geneva.

The conference provides a regular biennial forum for sharing experiences and exchanging views between governments, international organizations, academia and civil society on current developments on debt and debt management issues in broader macroeconomic context.

This year, the conference addressed important issues as financing for development, debt sustainability, responsible and inclusive financing, and mitigating debt management operational risks.

UNCTAD organizes the Debt Management Conference every two years, providing a regular forum for the sharing of experiences and exchange of views between governments, international organizations, academia, the private financial sector, and civil society on current issues in debt management. It brings together senior national and international debt managers and experts from around the world to discuss some of the most pertinent topics in both external and domestic debt, debt management and public finance.
