E-learning platform to launch Education Minister

Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham has stated that the newly launched E-learning Platform would reduce the expenses spent by state budget on training teachers by 78 percent.

Addressing the keynote at the launching ceremony of E-learning Platform Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham stated that the biggest hurdle in delivering appropriate training programmes to the teachers is the geographical formation of Maldives.

The Education Minister Aishath Shiham said that with the newly launched platform, expenses spent on transportation and accommodation would be eliminated. These expenses amounts to 78% of the budget allocated to the sector, according to Minister Aishath Shiham.

Furthermore, the Education Minister said that authorities have been exerting various efforts to strengthen the education sector in Maldives.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education Nahid Mohamed Rasheed stated that the platform was established by the collaborative efforts of National Institute of Education and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The platform would connect expert trainers and teachers and revealed that the platform would be made available to the public by the beginning of next year, revealed the Deputy Minister.

Ministry of Education has been providing various long and short term courses and with the newly launched E-Learning Platform these courses are expected to receive a boost.
