Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has sent a message sympathy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Hassan Shokry Selim, condemning the attack on a mosque in Sinai.
In the minister's message he expressed that it was with deep shock and horror that he learnt the news of the attack on a mosque in Egypt's North Sinai region during the Friday prayers.
In addition the Minister stated that the Government of Maldives condemned this act of terror in the strongest terms and stated that the Government of Maldives stands with the Government and people of Egypt and will continue to work closely with the Government of Egypt and the international community, in all efforts to eliminate this global threat of terrorism and to maintain peace and security in the world.
