Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has stated that the development brought to Thinadhoo Hospital of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll reached its highest peak during the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Addressing a gathering of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Heath Minister Nazim noted that there were only 12 doctors serving at Thinadhoo Hospital while the number has doubled to 24 in the past four years. The number of nurses working in the hospital has also risen from 53 to 74, adding to a total sum of over 200 staff working at the hospital, the Minister added.
Minister Nazim further highlighted that under the efforts of the current administration, the hospital is currently equipped with the dialysis machines, equipment to test for Thaleseamia and backup generators.
