Maldives expresses hope of firm assitance of Japan in future

Addressing the official reception held to celebrate the National Day of Japan and the Golden Jubilee celebration of establishment of bilateral relations between the Maldives and Japan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim highlighted the strong and cordial relations both countries share in bilateral and multilateral arena.

In this regard, Foreign Minister Dr. Asim stated that the strong bond is based on the strong foundation of trust and respect. In addition, Minister Dr. Asim also shed light on strengthening relations between both countries with President Yameen's official visit to Japan in the year 2014.

On this note, Minister Asim stated that the government of Maldives is confident that Japan would remain as a steadfast and consistent partner in the future development of the country. Addressing the ceremony, Parliamentary Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Iwao Horii highlighted the fast development of relations between both countries in various fields and expressed hope of further progress and enhancing these relations.

In the official reception held to mark the National Day of Japan and the Golden Jubilee celebration of establishment of bilateral relation between Japan and Maldives, the visiting Japanese Minister handed over the commemorative stamp of Japan to Foreign Minister Asim. Minister Asim also handed over a special edition of Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) Quarterly Edition to Minister Iwao Horii.

Furthermore, a special certificate of appreciation was awarded to Maldives National University (MNU), in recognition for the 35 years of organising various courses to boost the Japanese language in Maldives. The certificate was awarded by the Ambassador of Japan to Maldives Kazumi Endo and received by Vice Chancellor of MNU Ali Fawaaz Shareef.
