Government of Maldives has begun taking inventory of staple foods stocked in islands across the country. Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar advised the citizens to be more observant as the weather could worsen.
Defence Minister Adam Shareef urged to store staple food safely since transportation is very inconvenient due to bad weather across the country. Taking inventory will be conducted with the assistance of island councils, added Minister Shareef.
Furthermore, the Minister assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation of all islands and necessary aid will be provided. He expressed that awareness among the public is remarkable and highlighted that the amount of incidents have decreased in number.
