Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Public (MTCC) has opened a new and improved terminal to be used for passenger and cargo ferries to Villingili, Thilafushi and Gulhifalhu. In addition, atoll ferries will also be departing from the new terminal. The new terminal accomodates up to 240 passengers and MTCC revealed that the new terminal is designed to ease passengers seeking services.
The commencement of services from the new terminal will enable the company to develop the services and the ferries travelling between Villingili and Male, according to MTCC. Furthermore, MTCC stated that automatic fair collection gates will be installed, with a view to commence electronic travel card services for residents living in Villingili.
