Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Maldives, James Dauris has assured his commitment to work towards strengthening ties between Maldives and United Kingdom. Ambassador Dauris made the remarks at a courtesy call paid to the Foreign Secretary of Maldies, Ahmed Sareer.
During the call, the Foreign Secretary and the Ambassador discussed bilateral issues of mutual interest and ways of further strengthening cooperation in areas of climate change and counter terrorism and radicalisation. They also exchanged views on ongoing economic and political developments in the country.
Ambassador Dauris assured Foreign Secretary Sareer of his commitment to staying engaged with the Government towards strengthening ties between the two countries and expressed the need to closely coordinate on key international developments. Sareer noted that Maldives attaches great importance to its relationship with the United Kingdom, and hopes that bilateral cooperation on economic, social and political development can move from strength to strength.
