MNDF sends National Service bill to Attorney General's Office

Ministry of Defence and National Security has revealed that a National Service Bill has been drafted and sent to the Attorney General's Office for approval.

The Defence Ministry said the bill aims to revive the spirit of patriotism and nationalism and to nurture a new generation which abides by the principles of Islam. The National Service Bill was drafted as part of the current Administration's Legislative Agenda announced in 2014, which includes a total of 207 bills to strengthen the Maldivian constitution.

In addition to the National Service Bill, the Ministry has also drafted a National Safety and Security Bill.
