Pakistan reiterates importance of its relations with Maldives

President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain has stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to the bilateral relations with Maldives and expressed desires to enhance ties between both nations in sectors such as economy, culture and education. While speaking with the Ambassador-designate to Maldives Vice Admiral (Retired) Waseem Akram in Islamabad, President Mamnoon Hussain emphasised on paying special attention towards restoring air and sea routes with Maldives to increase the trade volume between the two countries.

Maldives and Pakistan have signed key agreements last year on matters relating to tourism, education, economic development, environment and climate change. Maldives and Pakistan also shares a friendly relationship due to common religion, social and economic aspects.
