Government signs agreements with 4 international universities

Government of the Maldives has signed agreements with four international universities under its efforts to provide easily accessible higher education opportunities for youth. The agreements were signed by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham.

The Government of the Maldives has been exerting major efforts to provide higher education opportunities for school leavers and youth with the aim to provide as many students with scholarship opportunities. In this regard, the government has signed agreements with UCSI University and Management and Science University of Malaysia, Lovely Professional University of India and ESOFT Metro Campus Private Limited of Sri Lanka.

Under the agreements signed, the universities will provide Maldivians with full scholarships and partial scholarships which will include discounts from tuition fees and other assistance. The universities will provide 230 fully funded scholarships, 1095 partial scholarships, according to Ministry of Education.
