FOSIM aims to train professionals in Foreign Service sector

Ambassador at Large Zahiya Zareer has stated that the Maldivian Foreign Ministry aims to enhance Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) to train professionally capable individuals for the foreign service sector.

Speaking on Talk Maldives TV programme aired on PSM News, Ambassador at Large Zahiya Zareer said that FOSIM is a major pillar in the foreign service sector of the country. In this regard, Ambassador Zahiya Zareer stated that Maldivian Foreign Ministry aims to enhance FOSIM to train professionally capable individuals for the foreign service sector. Furthermore, Ambassador Zahiya shed light on various opportunities provided by FOSIM and stated that a bill is being drafted to strengthen the sector. Ambassador Zahiya added that FOSIM also conducts sessions for government offices on various areas such as protocol procedures.

Zahiya Zareer who had previously served as the Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka said the establishment of the cultural centre in Sri Lanka is a landmark accomplishment of the administration, as the centre is important and popular among Maldivians in Sri Lanka. Ambassador Zahiya said that the Cultural Centre also accommodates additional services such as 2 futsal grounds, a gym and indoor sports arena. Ambassador Zahiya concluded by stating that the Cultural Centre is a positive step for the enhancement of social bond among the Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka.
