Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has met the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Dr. Aklilu Hailemichael on the sidelines of the 30th African Union Summit held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
During the meeting, the Maldivian Foreign Minister disclosed the keenness of Maldives to strengthen bilateral ties with Ethiopia. The Ethiopian State Minister welcomed the move to strengthen bilateral relationship between the two countries, further noting that Ethiopia looks forward to drawing lessons from Maldives particularly in tourism and fisheries sector. The State Minister further revealed Ethiopia's readiness to work more closely with Maldives on dealing with climate change.
Foreign Minister Asim has met with various leaders participating in the 30th African Union Summit.
