Malaysia Education Expo 2018 has concluded by achieving its aim of delivering knowledge on educational opportunities available in Malaysia. The two-day expo held by Malaysia Global Services of Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia and Department of Higher Education of Maldives saw the participation of 20 Malaysian Universities which disseminated information on the programmes they offer.
Malaysia is amongst the favorite destinations for Maldivian students to attain higher education. A rave response has been received from the public with over 1,200 people visiting the stalls, according to the universities at the expo.
Malaysia has been one of the most important and steadfast development partners for Maldives, especially in the education sector. Maldives and Malaysia signed four agreements during the recent trip of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to Maldives, including an agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education.
The relations between Maldives and Malaysia reached new heights over the past four years, under the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The scholarship opportunities from Malaysian Universities is a testimony of the strong bond between the two countries.
