Ministry of Education has collaborated with Society for Health Education (SHE) to provide administrative assistance for counselors working at the educational institutes in Maldives.
Under an agreement signed between the two parties, SHE is responsible to supervise and provide assistance to the counselors for a two year period. The agreement was signed at a special ceremony by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shihaam and Chairperson of SHE Asim Ahmed.
Briefing the media about the signed agreement, Education Minister Aishath Shihaam stated that SHE is a steadfast partner in all the endeavors initiated by the Ministry. The Minister cited that counselors stationed at various educational institutions around the nation attend 800 students and added that SHE is contracted to supervise and provide assistance to these counselors.
Addressing after the signing ceremony, Chairperson of SHE Asim Ahmed said the assistance provided by the society to the educational institutes is expected to be strengthened with the signing of the agreement.
53 schools around the nation have counselors stationed, with 40 counselors are stationed outside of the capital city, according to Education Ministry.
