Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has revealed plans of establishing an outlet of the famous Australian coffeehouse Gloria Jean's Coffees at Velana International Airport (VIA).

Briefing the media after the signing ceremony to establish world famous food franchises in the waterfront restaurant developed in VIA, Managing Director of MACL Adil Moosa stated that in addition to the fast food franchises developed at the waterfront, the company aims to establish various new and famous international franchises such as Gloria Jean's Coffees.

Gloria Jean's Coffees is a franchised specialty coffeehouse company that has opened more than a thousand coffee houses across 39 markets worldwide, including over 460 in Australia. MACL has signed an agreement with HMSHost to develop international fast food franchises such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee and Harvest Market in VIA.
