President sends letters to Supreme Court regarding its ruling

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent three letters to the Supreme Court of Maldives, regarding the challenges being faced in implementing the Supreme Court's ruling released on February 1.

The President sent the three letters by the authority given to the President under part A and C of Article 115 of the Constitution of Maldives, stated Minister of Legal Affairs at the President's Office Aishath Azima Shakoor while briefing the media.

The letters addressed to the Chief Justice of the Maldives Abdulla Saeed outlines that the Supreme Court's ruling halts the work conducted by the independent institutions and government bodies, which endangers the security and stability of the country and its citizens.
