Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has recorded a state revenue of USD 142 million in the first month of this year. The revenue recorded for January was an increase of 10.7 percent compared to the same period of last year, according to statistics published by MIRA.
MIRA attained the highest income from Business Profit Tax (BPT) which is USD 56.4 million. However, this is recorded as a 39.8% decline compared to the USD 61 million received in January 2017.
Moreover, the authority received USD 53.4 million as Goods and Services Tax (GST) in January 2018, which is a 37.6% increase than the same period of last year.
Green Tax received by MIRA amounts to USD 6.6 million, while USD 5.1 million was received as Tourism Land Rent, according to the statistics.
