Former Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has stated the implementation of Supreme Court ruling of February 1 would have destabilised the peace and sovereignty of the nation.
Hussain Waheed noted that even if he was the Police Commissioner when the ruling was issued, implementing such a ruling would have been difficult for him and that it is not possible to act upon such a ruling. He highlighted the best opinion is to seek advice from relevant legal authorities, if the security forces believe a court ruling will undermine the security and peace of the country.
Implementing the Supreme Court ruling would have surely destabilised the country and that it would have been difficult to recover from such a situation, according to the former Commissioner.
