Maldives has participated in the "Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America 2018" exhibition.
The Maldivian delegation comprised of representatives of the Maldivian fisheries industry, from both the private sector and the government.
In this regard, members from the Maldives Fisheries Promotion Board of the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO), Horizon Fisheries Private Limited and Ensis Fisheries Private Limited participated in the fair held in North America.
The main aim of taking part in the fair is to promote Maldivian fish products and to provide a platform for local companies to promote their products internationally, according to the Fisheries Ministry. The fair will increase demand for local fish products and give a boost to the sector, assured the Ministry.
Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America is a leading trade event for seafood buyers in every market category including retail, restaurant, catering, food service and processing. The exposition features over 1,340 exhibiting companies from more than 50 countries.
