China's Travel and Leisure magazine has ranked Maldives as the top travel destination in the world.
At a special ceremony, the award for top travel destination in the world was received by Ambassador of Maldives to China Mohamed Faisal. In addition, the magazine ranked Maldives amongst the top 8 most famous destinations worldwide.
China is one of the top tourist markets and is amongst the top tourist arrival countries to Maldives. 19.2% of tourist arrivals in February were from China, according to statistics published by Ministry of Tourism.
