Universal health insurance system in Maldives is the best in region: WHO

World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Maldives Dr. Arvind Mathur has stated the universal health insurance system in Maldives is the best in the South Asia region.

The major reason for the achievements of the Maldivian health sector is the collective effort of the relevant stakeholders and authorities to achieve common targets, World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Maldives Dr. Arvind Mathur noted addressing the function held to launch the Second Workshop on Fetal Heart Screening by Tiny Hearts Maldives. Dr. Mathur also highlighted the milestone achievements of the administration in the health sector. He noted it is important to build a multisectoral partnership for prevention, and also to take the process forward towards early screenings for birth defects.

The workshop focused on radiologists is organised by Tiny Hearts Maldives, and held at Kurumba Maldives, aiming to enhance early screening for birth defects.
