Government inaugurates project to develop sewerage facilities in Himmafushi

Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim has inaugurated the project to develop sewerage facilities in Himmafushi of Kaafu atoll.
The government contracted the project to Sierra Construction Private Limited to be completed within 468 days. The project would cost USD 2.9 million and would be funded from the state budget and Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
A wastewater treatment plant and an administrative building would be established as part of the project, which is conducted under the efforts of the government to provide safe water to all citizens of Maldives.
