Foreign Secretary meets bilateral figures on sidelines of NAM Ministerial Meeting

Foreign Secretary of Maldives Ahmed Sareer has met bilateral figures of different countries on sidelines of Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
In this regard, Foreign Secretary met with Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco Mounia Boucetta and discussed issues of mutual concern. Moreover, Foreign Secretary held meetings with Heads of Delegation of Mongolia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Botswana and discussed areas of mutual interest during each respective meeting.
Furthermore, on efforts to enhance bilateral ties, Foreign Secretary called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda Oryem Henry Okello. During the meeting, the Foreign Secretary and the Ugandan Foreign Minister discussed areas of mutual interest and cooperation. The Maldivian Foreign Secretary also met Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Andrei Dapkiunas on the sideline of NAM and discussed areas of mutual interest.
The Foreign Secretary is currently in Azerbaijan attending the Ministerial Meeting of NAM to represent the Maldives and its interests at the meetings. The Maldives became a member of the NAM on 15 August 1976 and has since then, participated and contributed to the work of the Movement. NAM was established in 1956 and counts 120 countries amongst its membership.
