IGMH introduces Smoking Cessation Clinic

Minister of Gender and Family Zeneesha Shaheed Zaki has urged to make the best possible use of the tobacco cessation clinic opened in Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), while addressing the function held to inaugurate the smoking cessation clinic in IGMH.
Gender Minister Zeneesha spoke on the importance of refraining from the consumption of harmful substances to ensure a healthy life. Highlighting that children as young as seven year olds have consumed tobacco, Minister Zeneesha expressed concern over the early age of beginning the consumption of tobacco in Maldives.
IGMH introduced a tobacco cessation clinic to assist individuals aiming to stop the consumption of tobacco. Its Respiratory Department has 24 trained employees and the clinic is equipped with facilities to help stop the consumption of tobacco, according to IGMH.
