Water facility in Fonadhoo ready for operation

Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim has revealed the fresh water facility established in Fonadhoo of Laamu Atoll will commence its services soon.
A water supply network and fresh water production system using reverse osmosis technology has been established in the island, according to Environment Minsiter Thoriq Ibrahim in a tweet. He noted the facility is ready to begin its operations and provide fresh water to the people of the island.
One biggest problem faced by population of nearly 3,000 citizens of Fonadhoo Island is attaining safe water.
The project to establish a fresh water facility in Fonadhoo was funded by the state budget and cost over USD 3 million.
