Maldives extends a huge support in development: Bangladesh

Ambassador of Bangladesh to Maldives Rear Admiral Akhtar Habib has stated the biggest support the country has received in the bolt speed development is the support extended by the youth of the country and by neighbouring countries such as the Maldives.
The country has attained the three criteria of graduation to a developing country on March 17, 2018, Ambassador Akhtar Habib revealed addressing the special ceremony held in Maldives to celebrate the graduation of Bangladesh from Least Developed Country (LDC) status to a developing nation. In this regard, Ambassador Akhtar Habib highlighted GNI per capita of the country currently stands at USD 1,272, while the human asset index stands at 72.8.
Continuing on, Ambassador Akhtar Habib noted Bangladesh has shown exemplary efforts in fields such as climate change and gender equality and emphasised the country is the number one country in the world in the aspects of gender equality.

In addition we are the number one in gender equality while we are also the number one country in utilizing solar energy at home. In 2016 with a GDP of USD 247 billion Bangladesh has become the second fasted developing country in the world and the second biggest economy in South Asian region.
