Public Service Media (PSM), Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) and Ministry of Environment and Energy have collaborated to create awareness on importance of waste management among citizens. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of PSM Ibrahim Khaleel, Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim and Managing Director of WAMCO Mohamed Shifau at a ceremony held at Male' Industrial Village.
Previous administrations had no plans of waste management techniques and highlighted within the past four years, the current administration has developed a master plan of safe disposal of waste, Environment Minister Thoriq noted speaking at the signing ceremony. The Environment Minister called on all individuals to play a part in waste management as it is a responsibility of every individual to dispose waste safely.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PSM assured to continuously work and produce awareness programmes related to waste and deliver it to the whole society on different platforms of media, speaking at the ceremony.
PSM has continuously worked to create awareness through its different platforms on different topics of interest to the public.
