Have accomplished about 50% of the strategic plan for 2016-2020: CSC

President of Civil Service Commission of Maldives (CSC) Dr. Ali Shameem Mohamed has stated the commission has successfully accomplished about 50% of the strategic action plan targeted for the period of 2016-2020.
The past four years have been the most prosperous period for the development of the commission, Dr. Ali Shameem said speaking on Maldives Today TV programme aired on PSM News. The Civil Service Training Institute has proven to be a major success of the commission, President of the commission Dr. Ali Shameem Mohamed said briefing on the achievements of CSC in the past decade.
In this regard, Dr. Ali Shameem Mohamed noted over 12,000 civil servants have been trained by the institute which is almost half of the total number of civil servants in the country. The civil service has transformed from a public service division to an independent institute in 2008 and revealed the period coincided with the successful transition to an e-government mechanism, highlighted Dr. Shameem.
On this note, the President of CSC revealed the commission currently communicates in a paperless mechanism which has been a major success. Continuing on, he said the commission has been successful in accomplishing about 50 percent of the strategic action plan targeted for the period of 2016-2020. He credited the success to the fast pace revolutionary development brought to the country by the administration.
The 2016-2020 strategic action plan is implemented under a vision to create a motivated, competent and professional civil service to ensure a cohesive collaborative whole government approach in problem solving and optimising resources.
