Environment Minister inaugurates project to develop sewerage facilities in Veymandoo

Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim has officially inaugurated the project to develop sewerage facilities in Veymandoo of Thaa Atoll.
Ministry of Environment and Energy contracted a joint venture company of India, LE Triveny J.V, to develop sewerage facilities in Veymandoo. The scope of sewerage facilities includes construction of 4 pump stations, laying of sewer mains, provision of house connections, construction of wastewater treatment plant and construction of sea outfall pipeline.
The USD 2 million project is funded by Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the state budget. LE Triveny J.V has to complete the project within 550 days, according to the contract.
