Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Education of Saudi Arabia Dr. Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al-Eysa.
Discussions were held regarding the developments of IUM, during the call. The Chancellor presented a brief introduction about IUM and mentioned the university was established by President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, under a presidential decree with the prospective aim to widen the scope of Islamic education provided in the Maldives.
Furthermore, Dr. Shaheem expressed sincere gratitude for providing assistance to IUM to promote Arabic Language, by sending specialised Arabic lecturers to conduct programmes.
The Chancellor of IUM is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia on invitation from Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
