Elections Commission concludes sensitisation programmes in Addu city

Elections Commission of Maldives has concluded sensitisation programmes held in Addu city to familiarise citizens on the upcoming presidential election. The sessions conducted in Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, Maradhoo Feydhoo and Hulhumeedhoo were attended by over 180 citizens.
The workshop held in Addu city is one of the most successful programmes conducted by the commission, member of Elections Commission Ahmed Akram said speaking with PSM News. During the programme, information are disseminated on authorities bestowed upon the electoral body under the constitution during elections and information on candidates, observers, representatives and monitors were also discussed. The programme is very crucial to conduct a peaceful election process, according to participants.
The Elections Commission aims to hold similar workshops in all parts of Maldives before the presidential election is held in September. Elections Commission is mandated to hold sensitisation programmes for public before the presidential election.
