Foreign Minister departs to attend 45th foreign Ministers Session of OIC

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has departed for Dhaka, Bangladesh to attend the 45th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled to be held from May 5-6.
The session will be held on Islamic Values for Sustainable Peace, Solidarity and Development. Foreign Minister Asim will deliver a statement and address the Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting during the Session.
The 45th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers will also review conflict situations in parts of the Muslim world, will discuss issues of international peace and security, Islamophobia, countering terrorism and violent extremism, humanitarian situations and the situation of Muslim communities.
Since joining the OIC in 1976, Maldives has participated in all regular Summits, Extraordinary Summits and the Foreign Ministers Meetings of the organisation.
